Junior Bank is a financial product offered by BCC.KZ, a well-established bank in Kazakhstan.
The main objective of Junior Bank is to promote financial literacy among children from an early age. To achieve this, Junior Bank has developed a mobile application specifically for kids.
The app offers a range of features including:
Ability to pay for school buses and games
Send and receive money from friends and family
Request money from parents
Complete tasks for payment from parents (in progress)
Open a savings account (in progress)
Learn about debit-credit with the help of gamification techniques
All these features are designed to provide a safe and secure environment for children to learn about financial management while having fun.

My role
I worked as a Product Designer with a team of designers, back-end & front-end engineers, a product manager, and marketing specialists.
I conducted user research, prototyping, and usability testing using tools like Figma, Excel, Jira, Miro, Maze, Notion, After Effects, and paper.

Research of direct and indirect competitors helped understand what features are implemented in the market. I found general trends in the market for children's mobile banking, including design of physical cards, financial lessons, creating several accounts for different goals, teaching investments (even crypto).

From just talking to users more, interviewing and letting them know more about the mobile application and its future features, consistently conducting financial lessons for kids, we have:
30% increase in user satisfaction, and
20% decrease in user drop-off rates for mobile platforms.

I understood the importance of being able to quickly grab ideas and pick up new skills such as new software, creating animations, basics of graphic design and design analytics, etc.
Design systems and different ways of maintaining them.
